While in Dublin last week I went to Connolly Station to get the Dart to Clontarf. When I went into the toilets there I cant really say I was surprised at the poor state they are in. I can only hope that visitors do not base the rest of the country on the state of the toilets in bus and train stations around Ireland.
Maybe I am being a tad harsh here, but in my experiences we have the poorest standard of transport-system toilets anywhere for a country that is supposedly so rich. Kent station in Cork is disgusting. Really disgusting. In many bus and train stations the same is applicable.
When these places are being done up (and Kent station is lovely) the toilets usually are forgotton which is terrible as these should be first on the list (well, maybe second after a room to sit down).
I can only really hope that the people that run these bus and train stations take heed and do something. These places really need a good cleaning, some paint, a few new tiles and more regular cleaning.
And anyone reading this, please remember that nothing improves without someone saying it needs to. Please submit your experiences using the menu above to guide and let me know what you think.
